Security → Amnesty International accuses major tech companies of using child labour

Amnesty International has released a report that accuses major Chinese, US and Korean technology companies of using children with no protective gear in the Congo to extract Cobalt.

Shame on all of us! The world does so little to protect people like these in poor countries, and it is a world wide problem. If it leads to money at the end, so be it. Children or adults should at least be provided with a minimum of protection for the ravages of that which they mine. We are all at fault.

Sad indeed, but am I missing something on how this is security related?

I didn't think it be appropriate and fair to the companies putting it in a specific forum like Microsoft, or Apple, as they're all in the mix. I just wanted to remind everyone where our cheap stuff comes from. Child labor, from 3rd world countries some of the times, eat well my friends...

How horribly sad and pathetic that we buy from those that enslave children to make our gadgets
