Re: Upload Speed vs .......said by adam1991:AT&TV's internet is that pricing, which isn't great, PLUS "additional fees apply".
Not "may apply". They apply.
Oh--and AT&TV has a data cap. WOW has none.
$40/month for half the speed, or $60 plus modem rental for 1/5 the speed.
AT&T fees notwithstanding. No modem rental, WOW will most likely have caps soon |

WOW hasn't had, and is in a competitive stance. I'm not at all concerned, especially compared to AT&TV.
The prices speak for themselves. $60 gets you 100 at AT&T, $70 (includes modem rental) gets you 500 at WOW.
$40 gets you 60 at AT&T, $40 gets you 100 at WOW. |

No, it's just common knowledge.. once a company goes public the shareholders usually pressure the company into making $$$ any way they can This WILL include caps |

Well, you can only work with what you know.
Let's see: $40 100Mbps with the threat of caps, or $60 100Mbps with the guarantee of a cap.
Add to that the fact that in a world of bastards, AT&T is the worst bastard. They're the bastard of bastards.
You may do business however you like. |

And I would suggest to be loud about it, to make sure potential shareholders hear. I might consider to be shareholder myself. No caps was the main reason for me to go with WOW vs Comcast. |

Maybe but shareholders will focus on video profits, and that is where WOW is way behind others. They will want caps to encourage people to stay with regular TV. |

Video is available from other providers as well (att, dish, ota, other cable providers). There is no advantage with video. But with internet WOW can offer better product. The question is - which is more important in todays market. |

I wouldn't call them vultures since they have done some upgrading, but yes, most people will focus on video profits and that is mostly heading towards streaming. If this wasn't a thing AT&T wouldn't have wasted ~$80 billion buying DTV. These companies are seeing internet for what it is, a commodity, and the real money is in video and collecting and selling your information to advertisers. |
