not to mention greed...

Every one of those Nigerian emails I've gotten, and the Nigerian faxes that went before it, appealed to one thing... GREED. Wanting more money isn't a bad thing unless you nix your morals along the way, and that's when it turns to greed.

In almost every case I've seen it's obvious that part of the scam is that someone's doing something illegal, or that something illegal has to be done to get the money. You know, like "we scammed this off of the people and now the new government is after us" or "we just need to pay some 'bribes' and we can get the money" etc.

Part of the charm of this scam, like many others, is that victims usually don't talk because they know they got taken trying to do something wrong.

I must get 5 of these things a week, sometimes more. I remember getting handwritten letters from Nirgeria in small brown envelopes as well.
