If DSL was available, and a USEFUL product people would use it, It doesnt take a genius to figure out that voice is now a competitive service(Cellphones), but Data is a more REAL market. Either the phone companies must wake up, and start providing DSL everywhere, or home phones will be only for dialup exclsively. OH and let me claify basic service meaning that available as caller-id and call waiting. call-intercept is a preferred service. The senario is once i can be phone service thru my cablemodem , its bye bye bell. Cable Co's are smart enough to fiqure it out. ITs not my fault the Phone companies cant keep there finances in check. If i went into a store and they said you are selling last yrs products because, we cant afford new ones, i would go elsewhere.
