This idea of going far longer than the DIAG light coming on is curious. Too many people have said it makes a difference so something must be going on. Question for anyone that's seen this... I'd like to know if the password changes back to "admin" with the shorter, ineffective, try at this reset? Would this be a reliable indicator?

In the interest of keeping this info in one spot this thread reminded me I've also seen this happen. Try as long as you like the DIAG light never comes on. In fact, I've seen the RESET completely ineffective - it does nothing. The solution is a power-cycle of the router then try again. [text was edited by author 2002-05-01 17:45:45]
