I wish there was a CompUSA close to me. Closest is Knoxville: 2hrs away.
Would that be on the Chattanooga Choo-Choo?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

If I didn't have a CompUSA right down the street from me, I think I would end up doing a lot of shopping at OWC and Smalldog. Of course, I usually check mysimon.com and pricewatch.com to see if I can get a better deal.

I picked the one I work for, of course.
I actually have bought things from almost every one on the list, but the bulk of my stuff comes from here.

Warehouse tends to run out of hot stuff fast and take a while to get them back in.

Do you guys order a big enough shipment?

Hard to explain, best answer from a sales point of view is sometimes. Purchasing usually buys product based on customer purchasing patterns.
It's a supply and demand thing really. It depends on a lot of things and what the product is. It depends on what the manufacturer or distributor is offering.
Sometimes we pick up the last of what's in the channel,. This type of thing we won't get any more of once they're gone.
Sometimes distribution will have a one day deal on something so we'll get a lower cost. We'll get more of the product, but not at that lower cost.
Sometimes we pick up what should be a good deal and it doesn't move, other times we can't get enough of something. I work in an outbound account exec position, I work primarily with businesses (I have to dial out all day long), when I see something really good I let all my top clients know right away because I want to make sure if they need some of whatever the deal is they get it before it's gone. For apple products we're one of the biggest fish in our channel, #1 for years.
