Anon | Cisco equip on GTE networks Hello, I have a Cisco 675 provided by USWest, soon to be moving to HI where GTE provides DSL. I am trying to find out absoultely-postively whether or not my hardware will work with GTE service. Neither the regular customer service or DSL folks at GTE would say. The only thing I got out of them was they use Figitsu hardware. Does anybody know for sure?
email replys will be appreciated anoland@yahoo.com |

Cisco equip on GTE networks This is not really a reply to this gentleman's question, but also the same question? I also have a Cisco 675 provided by US West, and I will be moving to California in a couple of days. They use GTE as their DSL provider and I was wondering if I could use the modem I bought for them rather then having to fork out some more money for a GTE modem.
Just like the person before me, I have asked anybody and everybody for answers. But no one seems to have any. I would be very grateful if someone could help both of us. It just makes me mad that no one can help.
If anyone has any ideas please e-mail me, It will be greatly apprciated!

Anon | Hey guys, Verizon will not use Cisco equipment, only Fujitsu so you have a bonafide DSL/Cisco paperweight. The good news is that verizon's current promotion will give you a free modem so it isn't a total loss. Who knows, if you move again to another providers area and they dont use Fijitsu OR Cisco you will have a nice set of DSL/Cisco/Fujitsu Bookends!!! |

Anon | reply to Anon That is exactly true - GTE only works with Fujitsu modems- they are propreitary - your Cisco modem will not work... |

 | reply to Anon I have one word for those Cisco modems--EBAY |

 | reply to Anon Yes, GTE uses Fijitsu equipment. The Cisco 675 uses CAP encoding where the 677 uses DMT. I'm not sure what the Fijitsu equipment uses, but if its CAP you'll be OK. Hope this helps. |
