What is the ideal RWIN

For anybody living in or near the Markham area, specifically Highway 7 and Warden, could you tell me what your Rwin is at? If you are using Windows ME, it will be even better. Right now my setting is at 75920, which is the largest number that the tweak test recommended my setting to be at. But since my speeds are at probably 600kilobits/sec, instead of the advertised 3000, i might have to lower the number down...

Try these settings,

Rwin - 46720
MTU - 1500
TTL - 128
And everything else at default.

Reboot and post back with updated tweak and speed test

ur tweaks are fine... i dont think changing them will actually give u any speed increases... dont set em too low cuz i suspect ur pings are pretty high since u live in a ex shaw cable area

Sorry about the delay, i haven't found any time to use the computer lately. Anyways, after the tweaks, the computer speed was slower so i think i'll revert back to my old settings. Here's the results of my latest test

Your download speed : 542089 bps, or 542 kbps.
A 66.1 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 51746 bps, or 51 kbps.
Your upstream result was very slow! .. not good

Anyways, anybody who lives in the Markham area, i would still like to see your speed test results and compare them.

And by the way, if i call Rogers and complain to them about my high pings, what should i expect from them? It's not like they're going to fix them right away as i'm still in a former shaw area and they're taking their time replacing to shaw stuff...Will they give me credits or would i be wasting my time calling?

When testing for MTU (»Tweaking FAQ »MTU: How high can/should mine be?) i find that mine should be at 1496. Should i change it to that or leave it at default at 1500. I'm sort of confused as i read stuff about PPPoE or something. Thanks guys

Leave it at 1500, ppoe is for dsl connections etc. At least that's what I have been told. 1500 is standard for cable connections.
