| That's double-illegal? Triple-illegal? Um, bootlegging is already against the law. Last time I looked, some people are doing it anyway. Additional legislation will accomplish exactly...what? If finding bootleg copies on the street corner is so easy, why aren't these people arrested? The Powers That Be should show that they're actually interested in the end result they're gunning for, rather than just slapping more and more restrictions on ALL people (not just the criminals) to no tangible effect. Their "more legislation" approach is akin to trying to kill a fly with a double-barreled shotgun. -- "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure about the universe." -Albert Einstein | |

In my state they are considering legislation against the food at the consession stand not the prices.

truep83 join:2002-03-14 San Bruno, CA | they are allowed to sell it as long as you own a legal copy of it...in this case, i doubt anyone has BOUGHT a dvd or vhs of spiderman or star wars...but if someone were to go and buy a copy of System of a Downs cd Toxicity...or the movie Titanic on a street corner, the person selling it won't actually get in trouble. If you buy the movie Titanic from the guy on the street corner for say 5 bucks, you are buying a backup copy of it because you supposedly already own a copy of it. You just need to have a backup in case something happens to the one you already have...that is...in theory.

I have already seen VHS copies. My friends have bought them. (This was the day before its national release.)
