I ve had Rogers since October... I used to get 1800 to 2400 kbps downloads commonly... The past 3 month i always get above 1000 kbps and below 1200 kbps... Never more, and rarely less. Any recomendations... My upload is is usually around the 365 kbps territory. |

U/L 365 I've never been close to that.
Given that Rogers now advertises D/L "up to" 1500 you're not doing badly.
Just tested mine am currently D/L 578, the absolute max I get is 1700 if I am on between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m.. During the day get between 800-1100, evening between 500-800. This compares to 4000 I got when it was Shaw. Then 2500 and a steady decline since Rogers took over. |

Haven't seen anything about when, maybe the 1500 just reflects reality. |

| reply to Kabdel In most new areas, it has been put in place with the TeraPro modems. I get the impression that this is an advertising change to get over the "Up to 100 times as fast as dial-up", which precious few people can do. I suspect that everyone who currently gets over the 1.5 cap will continue to do so unless Rogers has to recommision your neighbourhood to do a node split, for example.
That's my gut feel.
Next we'll see changes in the "unlimited access" part of the ads too. |
