The moveplex get the 43 and the film owner gets the rest. The house makes nothing on the movie but only on the food items.

Or how about this:
---------------
DVD nights in.
---------------
Buy the movie on line .......................$21.95
3 pack of house bran popcorn on sale ........$2.10
24 pack of soda..............................$5.00 On sale
Various selected candies from last Haloween .$2.96
No stickey floor ............................$0.00
No late people poping in ....................$0.00
High Quality picture ........................$0.00
Best seats in the house .....................$0.00
-------------
Total $32.01

Or rent it and really drop the price.

If you are paying that much to buy movies online then you are shopping at the wrong sites.

You can typically beat that by quite even at "brick and mortar" stores.

I won't touch a DVD unless it's at least $20 or less. I tend to grab them when they go down to the $15 mark. As far as rentals I have been using NetFlix. $20 a month to rent all the DVD's I want. I end up seeing about 9-12 per month so at the very least I am paying about $2 per DVD rental.
