pocky9 join:2000-08-09 Kirkland, WA | reply to Anon That is cool! The extra $10 in my pocket will help pay for all the cigarettes that I chain smoke while I am online. I'm a GTE/Verizon customer in Kirkland, WA. Just got signed up in the beginning of august, unfortunately I can't get a solid sync that will stay for more than 1/2 hr without dropping off. They're sending a tech saturday to check I hope they get it figured out because it's so cool when it works right |

 | I read about the price drop in the Los Angeles Times some time ago but it mentioned it was only for the East Coast customers and GTE/Verizon was considering applying to the same price cut to California. So far I haven't heard anything but Verizon is not my ISP. So I don't know if California is not getting the price cut or if only Verizon/Verizon DSL/ISP combos qualify. |

They sent a follow up email clarifying the price cut, if I remember correctly the DSL line remains $32 but the ISP goes from ~$17 to ~$7 if you are going through Verizon, so the net is $39.95 if you were paying $49.95 for Verizon line and isp together. The messages were sent to my gte.net email account from the Verizon ISP. |

Anyone in Va Beach have a different ISP with GTE? |
