Re: Help Anyone know what this file is ? Ok, I read MS answer over and over, makes no sense but I will tell you how they want you to do it, Open notepad copy and paste this in it del /q %SystemRoot%\System32\Perflib_Perfdata*.dat now save as Test.bat on your desktop should be fine,Then do the following.
On the taskbar, click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. In the console tree, expand Local Users and Groups, and click Users. Click the user account that you want. Click Action, and then click Properties. Click the Profile tab, and then type the path and file name of the script in Logon script. Click Apply, and then click OK Then reboot. -- TrojanHunter Stands For Privacy!!!!!!!

Well, I tried it and it didn't work for me. I saved the bat file in C:\Program Files and when I rebooted, the files were still there. It took a while to boot and when I opened C:\Documents and Settings\User name it had copied all the files from C:\Program Files to my User folder. It also copied some of the files in the User folder to C:\Program Files ????????????
Doesn't the script apply to the System32 folder and not C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Temp?
