Re: COX HSI problems, NOVA Only pease, I don't understand why the mod sent this thread here. This thread was to report the problem of COX service. This thread doesn't deserve this Rants Raves and Praise forum. I don't understand. |

| reply to COXnightmare I second that. At this point the rants outweigh the praise and should be kept separate. Only when Cox finally starts resolving all of the issues with there service currently should we begin to "praise". [text was edited by author 2002-07-07 13:42:27] |

Re: Best Data and Toshiba issues Could you tell us what a 'runt' packet is? First time I've ever heard the term, and I'm just curious as to what it means. -- Waste is such a terrible thing to mine. |

 | reply to charterengr In networks, a runt is a packet that is too small. For example, the Ethernet protocol requires that each packet be at least 64 bytes long. In Ethernet, which operates on the idea that two parties can attempt to get use of the line at the same time and sometimes do, runts are usually the fragments of packet collisions. Runts can also be the result of bad wiring or electrical interference. Runts are recorded by programs that use the Remote Network Monitoring (RNM) standard information base for network adminstration. RMON calls them "undersize packets".
