Rogers...Road Runner?!

Just thought i'de fill you in. I heard rumors that Rogers may continue the trend and join Road Runner. Will the @Home Revolt continue?

Right now, Rogers bought Cable Atlantic in Newfoundland, which had a contract signed with Road Runner, and Rogers could not break it. It seems like things down here are doing preety good, and I've heard rumers over IRC that Rogers may actually be looking into becoming "Rogers Road Runner".

Just thought i'de share this

The point of having @home was to avoid the investment in providing the ISP infrastructure themselves.

Since they've now made that investment, it is highly unlikely that they'll now go and sell it all off to roadrunner.

It's possible,
RoadRunner is run by Time Warner Cable, and the bandwith comes from who else?
AOhelL.

I wouldn't want that,
But, on the other hand, it could be Rogers' solution for Bandwith Hogs!
Thats a plus, even if the Bandwith is from AOhelL!
They could still use the inner rogers network for email and newsgroups....

Your two cents are wrong. Road Runner is quite different. Every section runs their own network, and they don't share like @Home did. Right now, my bandwidth in St. John's on Road Runner is running through Group Telecom (www.gt.ca). It's actually fast..heh.

Your $0.02. My $0.03.
