| what's your upload speed? if it's around 50-60kbps you should try calling the adsl support line because they might have given you the bronze package instead of the bronze plus package. just like the people in this post...

It has been about a week since my speed dropped by almost half. Used to get around 650-700 kbits a second, now I get between 300 an 350.
I called to complain, they said they have been having bandwidth problems here in Everett and it was supposed to have been fixed by now. They finally said they would look into it. Yeah I bet.
Strangely enough I find when I use a download accellerator my ftp speed has gone upto 700+ kbits a second. I have tested alot of different well conected sites. Something strange is goin on here.

You might want to make sure that your DSL is provisioned properly for 768/128. I had a problem with GTE where I was configured at a lower speed than I was paying for. When I called up, they told me that it happens "all the time". Ugh. |

If you're a Verizon DSL customer using GTE as a GSP, try calling them up and switching to Qwest instead. My DL speed went from ~40kbps (!) to ~500kbps consistently. Seems GTE/Verizon is seriously overloaded... |

Thats funny because when I first got DSL it was thru the Earthlink GTE shing ding, my download speeds were in the mid 600s sometimes lower, I live only 600+ feet from CO too, but when Verison took over there was this time when all systems were down in SoCal when they came back online a day or two later my speeds were improved. Now most of the time I'm in the 716/119 range,close to what I pay for. Beats me but im happy. |

I decided to see just how much I could download and at what speed. I loaded Napster and started downloading...day one maxed out at 1065Kb!!! and was averaging 675. Day two, maxed out at 1417Kb and averaged almost 800! I'm OVER the limit they allow now and have Bronze+. I was VERY impressed! |

Did you change your operating system? I know that this is a problem win98se dropped my DL speed to about half from what it was in win98fe. When I switched to winme it came back up again.
