Re: WOW its unfair, the telcos charge each a massive amount for each line... if they want dsl to live, they'd cut back on the profits.
Its like Microsoft charging each software company $30 for each copy they sell just so its able to run on windows... if they did that, then MS would be the only game in town. MS could offer their software cheaper than anyone else, and kill the whole market... ofc the government would stop them. But they don't seem to be stopping the telcos. |

 KeithM8Zx6r Rider join:2001-01-17 Broken Arrow, OK | I believe it's the government that sets the rates at which a telco can sell a "line". Telcos are regulated by tariff laws. When the gov. regulates how much MS sells their product for THEN you can make a comparison.
As far as "big" dsl companies going under it's both shocking and disheartening. Just goes along with the saying "It takes money to make money". Hmm, although SBC's Prodigy is taking on water at this very moment. Go figure... |
