Anon | Am I lucky?--I'm still worried. Yes, I had to wait a couple of months for COVAD to hook me up to Bazillion. Yes, I had to fork over $250 up front for installation. Yes, it was been impossible to get through to Bazillion recently. Yes, I got the shocking termination e-mail from Bazillion on Saturday.
But the service was OK while it lasted. And actually, I'm using Bazillion DSL as of this moment. (I wonder if the fact that I'm in NYC-- far away from Seattle--has anything to do with it.) Also, COVAD rebated me to the tune of $200 already. So, my cost thus far is just $50 installation and $50 each month for the TWO MONTHS (!) that I've had the service.
Nevertheless, here are my concerns: I don't want them charging my credit card in the future. Its only fair that I am now released from the one-year contract I signed with them.
Are these unfounded concerns? Should I expect things to go smoothly in the future? By smooth, I mean that I'll be free and clear and able to do whatever I want vis a vis another ISP.--Or are there defensive steps I need to take?
Whew! How long did Bazillion DSL last altogether? Around 14 months? or even less? |

There is no way in hell I am going to let them take all that money, I will be disputing it. They cannot just charge all the installation fee's, and then bail. |

Piss poor business plans deserve outcomes like this. |

 | reply to Anon I'm in the same boat I just got dinged $318 for install and service and have only been on for a month or so. Now what am I gonna do? Here's how my luck has been at this house for DSL (Milton, WA), I switched to Bazillion from PSN.net! *SOB* hehheh. Luckily, the line is still working, I'm hoping to hear back from Covad.net. There have been trucks rolling through the neighborhood lately with spools of fiber cabling in tow, so *hopefully* I'll be able to switch to cable soon. When I talked to AT&T Broadband last September, I was told that our area should be coming up early this year with the service. Now...if only I can convince them to offer some sort of "Pro Package" or upgrade so I can buy some extra upload bandwidth everything will be golden
Best of luck to the Bazillion refugees and all of us struggling to get broadband. |
