Docsis modem transfers

this is interesting... i use du meter and whenever i upload or download if my speed ever drops for a second the next second it goes over the 3mbps cap... i think this is rogers' way to make sure we get closer to advertised speeds... altho they gonna be capped soon

I think this is a timing resolution error in DUmeter ... losing a second when doing its counting and then regaining it on the next. I see this regularly on both down and upload.

This is how speed cap is happening (as observed in my modem), if you download a small file, it will exceed 300K/B, for big files, there is a pause and release cycle, you end up with average speed below 1500kbps.

As I have stated in my other post, dumeter is not good to calculate current speeds.

For me on Sympatico it showed double the speeds I was capable of.

mau ur du meter would show 2x the speed cuz u had to set it on monitor dial up connections only
if not it shows raspppoe's or winxppppoe's speed and the network cards speed togheter... cuz it monitors all connections
i actually get speeds up to 2600+kbps so i dont think its throtling
