I think you get news on rogers, most definitely, aren't the servers the same if you weren't going through a router? Anyways try this:
incoming mail: pop.broadband.rogers.com
outgoing mail: smtp.broadband.rogers.com

Try it.
Or try Ip
incoming :66.185.95.101
outgoing :66.185.95.99

I'll try to find the proper news one, I hope that helped.

nntp.bloor.is.net.cable.rogers.com seems to be the central news server address, but most phubs have their own proxy to help load balancing ... which is simply nntp

I think you would be able to, I am almost positive.
also for the incoming and outgoing mail, you can try :

incoming: pop.bloor.is.net.cable.rogers.com
outgoing: smtp.bloor.is.net.cable.rogers.com
