| NewEdgeNetworks in Reno area? Does anyone know if there is an ISP in Reno that provides service via NewEdge? It seems that most ISPs that I can think of in Reno provide their service on top of NevadaBell (GBIS, ACI, InterComm). I just moved out of Monterey, CA where NEN had provided me 1.1mbit SDSL both ways through a local provider WITHOUT interaction from SBC/PacBell.
Its frustrating to pay a local ISP for service considering NVBell charges the same whether you buy bandwith from them or another company.
Has anyone had any experience with GBIS' wireless service? Any idea what it would cost if I already have the equipment? (I have a parabolic grid antenna as well as a couple 340 access points and bridges) |

We don't use the Cisco 340 stuff, so having that already wouldn't help. We're currently usingS unstream/Trango in most areas, and Breezecom/Alvarion in Hawthorne.
It appears you're in Incline Village, though, and we don't have wireless service there at all yet. DSL is your best bet. While it's true that we use Nevada Bell/ASI to provide the actual DSL, you never have to interact with them. We're your single point of contact, and you get a bill only from us.
Hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to contact me, or our sales department, if you have more questions! |
