As I said, the problem happens when no uploads are taking place, or even when uploads are disabled in Kazaa options. Searches rarely work and ALL downloads slow down and then stop, regardless of file type, which was definitely not the case before. And when uploading is turned on, ALL uploads stop after 128K of data has been transferred. Yet upload and download speeds are great via FTP, even with large files. It seems obvious to me that some sort of firewall or filter is in place to restrict Kazaa use. And the thing is, I actually think it would be fair to require higher fees for P2P use, if they would offer such a thing and disclose the practice.

Are you using a router at all? The reason I ask is because I had similar symptoms with the SMC7004ABR router for 1.5 yrs and the problem was poratic. Some days it was great and others the connection was unbareable. I ended up getting another router and the internet is a friendly place again
