please help..my rogers cable is horrible!!!

speed tests i got.. the test before that was even worse if you can believe it or not... it feels like im on dial up.. im really angry right now... i gave rogers a call and after about 20 minutes of hold time the rogers guy says "i can't do anything about it".. how's that for customer service. he says he "feels for me" but he can't do anything about it. says markham area is very congested and id have to wait till the END of july before they can fix it.. is there anyone i can complain to? anyone i can contact because paying $45 per month for DIAL UP speeds is crazy!!! very early in the morning (when no one is online) my speeds are still bad.. i dont even hit HALF an MBIT... and that's on a good day.. what should i do guys?.. please help.. thanks

Go to rogers lite then, if you can't get any better speeds.

Don't accept that as an answer from Rogers tech support. There are a slew of test that can be done to identify the problem, and the solution can be as simple as a configuration change or as difficult as replacing a tap or a cable. Basically, stick with them until they make you happy. Oh there is nothing that can be done, is not an acceptable answer, makes sure Rogers knows that.

In the mean time, post a line quality test, we maybe able to help.

don't worry, i get the same thing and live in Markham. Near a mbit during morning but from noon til night, crappy speeds!

I live in Etobicoke and my speed is apox 280-300kbs all the time and my ping trace have 4 Time outs to Rogers.com 78ms!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rogers tech can not help me?1/?!?1?!?1/1!?

okay guys, speed tests show us nothing aside from the fact that your internet is slow. Unless you are just posting here to rant, if you would actually like some help, post a line quality test. It would at least help give us an idea of where the problem is.

Very consistant low speed. Mybe if I go with Lite Service it will be better?

It won't be better with Lite, because the limits are 128kbps download and 64kbps upload. But you will be paying $20 less, I think its $24.95 for Lite vs $44.95 for the 1500/192 service.

i know what you mean man..same thing with me.. my speeds in the evening dont pass 8kbps.. not kidding.. this is a joke.. i talked to rogers about 5 times already and they said they're going to fix our area soon.. im gonna give them a call again next week ill keep you informed

Dude, this has got to be the worst speeds I've seen from anyone on Rogers. I have had my share of problems in the past, but none this drastic. Are you at least getting credit for this dial-up? heheh...

sorry for the late reply.. with my connection i can only surf one webpage at a time.. =( i am getting credit for this poor excuse of a connection..i mustve complained to them about 3 times this week.. id hate to be a rogers customer service rep these days.. i hope they fix this soon.. im tired of this shiet.. thanks for the info though guys!
