Covad.net switchover experience

Well my Bazillion experience wasn't too bad.

Service was fine on Saturday, gone on Sunday. I found the news article on the web at work on Monday and started the phone search. I decided to go with Covad.net for a 30 day trial since the switchover was free. I was up on a dialup Monday evening. I'm not sure when they got the DSL up (an email never arrived), but it was there on Friday when I finally downloaded the PPPoE client and tried it.

Cost: I was refunded my 1/2 month of service from my credit card and get a month free from covad. Not bad.
Monthly cost has increased $5, but I get limited dialup access nationwide. I go from a month-to-month to a one year contract. Okay if it's good service.

Connection: My bandwidth is testing consistently better than with Bazillion. Some sites are even noticeably faster.

Latency: My latency for gaming has decreased significantly. Bazillion routed me via Seattle or Chicago on my first hop (from Salt Lake City) and I always had a 100 ms plus first hop. Now I'm getting 100 ms to my racing server!! Much better!!

Overall, I'm pleased with the connection and the service, so far. Maybe this was a good thing after all.
