Re: Docsis modem??
The TCM200 TeraPro modem is NOT DOCSIS ... it is S-CDMA ... and at the headend connects to a TeraLink CMTS. My old TeraPro came in a box from Rogers labeled DOCSIS too ... I think they had a ton of those boxes and just tossed any old modem in them!
TeraLink and DOCSIS CMTS systems can overlay service on the same cable line, although they are not compatible ... i.e. the DOCSIS modems don't talk to the TeraLinks CMTS and the DOCSIS CMTS won't talk to the TeraLink modems.
On the whole, speeds with the TeraPro modems can be good if the CMTS cards are capable (some of the cards fix the download speed at 4* the upload speed, so if you've been capped at 192K down, the upload is crap at 800 in spite of telling you you're capped at 1.5!!!
The Ericsson DOCSIS seems quite reliable so far (I changed to DOCSIS after bitter complaints about the 4* TeraPro problem).
