kudos:4 | McCain bill should be named Monopoly Act of 2002 The local Bells and the Cable companies must have compromising pictures of McCain or are sending tons of money his way. This bill should be introduced as the "Monopoly Act of 2002". Single handedly, McCain is trying to eliminate competition for residential broadband customers. This act would result in higher, rates, worse service, and less choices. Hopefully he won't get enough co-sponsors to get this bill moving.

McCain bought & paid for by telecomm industry If you want to know why McCain is backing this bill, then you have to go no further than the list of his major contributors. Seven of his top 20 are in the telecomm/broadband industry.
