| Charter In My Area I'm in southwest VA and we have Charter. I went back to dial up because it was faster. My ping times were about the same as Cox in NOVA. Probably a tad faster though. My average ping time was 1200ms with 33% packet lost. This was with 384k. I went back to the 56k dialup because that's about the speed I was getting and it was only $10 a month.
Point of this? Yes COX is bad, but they aren't the only ones with the same problem. The whole attitude is wrong. Well we are the only ones that can provide this service. So take it or leave it. I understand why they don't want to upgrade because of the costs. HOWEVER, do NOT mislead your customers with ads of 15x faster than dialup. Because it's NOT. I know that they are trying to turn a buck, but they are actually loosing money because of their attitude.
