Taxes a are about $4 a month of this total. This is the same price they charge here for 2 way. Aside from the one way, two way difference, you also do not get all the digital channels- they are only available in the areas upgraded to two way, but you pay for them anyway.  The dropped connections are from the phone line dropping. It will drop automatically with no activity, but even if you have it check email every five minutes or are in the middle of a download, it still will disconnect for no apparent reason throughout the day. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/472048"><b>Frankie2toneD</b></A> : so what is ure bill like?.....price wise...after tax and fees like they like to add on.....ill be gettin the modem from the guy off ebay this week...what sucks is the fact i have to build a little proxy server running 98 in order to use the modem ....i dont have an isa slot in my current rig...and im not about to downgrade my os cause i use too many apps...the wont work in 98.....any way......when u say u always have to reconnect....that would be because the phone upload connection drops a lot on you?.....also is the download speed preatty much the same as 2 way.... there isnt really that much differnce in the upload of 2 way powerlink it maxes out at like 12-k 2 times faster than dial up....any way...i found out that the guy i bought the modem from still has all the drivers on disk and their still in the box with the modem....so thats cool....as long as i dont need some specual adelphia software or something of the lines that they dont provide anymore....i should be good to go.....]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/518288"><b>RPeppe</b></A> : I have the drivers for the VSP modem, but not the VSP Plus (the plus integrates the dial up modem, the VSP is only the cable modem and you need a separate modem for the dial up). Not sure the drivers will work for your model or not, but I can email them if you want to try it.  The drivers do not appear to be available on the USR site anymore, and Adelphia took them down after they bought GS Communications. It is amazing that the remote parts of the county have 2 way service but not this very developed part of the city.  You will find the one way service still beats pure dial up, at least when it works.  It is hard to maintain the connection for more than a few hours- we have to reconnect 10-20 times a day.  The really sad part is you pay the same price for one way and two way service.]]></description>

During that time they have been less than honest with schedule for 2-way rollout.  I live in a brand new section of the city, but no 2 way yet. Each time I call, for three years, I have been told "only a few more months."  They have reached the point where it is difficult to believe anything they say.  The one way modem I have is a USR internal model that uses an ISA slot.  The last drivers were released three years ago.  I can't even upgrade my server since no drivers are available for NT, 2000 or XP.  I share your frustration, but have not seen any alternatives other than satellite which has its own issues.  DSL is not available. Maybe someone will launch a decent fixed wireless service here.]]></description>

About the only place you can find them is on ebay. These modems (per motorola and GI) where not released for consumer sale, only for cable operators. If you find one, make sure you reset the defaults. It caused a lot of problems and made a lot of people here mad. <br><br>Make sure it has a "d" after the number designation (i.e. sb3100d) if you buy a surfboard. I am way too far from the CO to ever get DSL and since I live in the middle of nowhere, the only option I have is 1 way cable modem. 2 way cable modem is 1-2 years away. Adelphia doesn't have any one-way cable modems available to lease. Where can I get one? I noticed in the forums people have mentioned the Motorola 3100. I can't find any place that is selling one.
