 | Low transfer rate between Roger's clients Hi everyone,
I'm out in Saint John, NB and I recently switched to Roger's High Speed from VIBE (xDSL). I am behind an SMC Barricade hardware firewall/router. Download speeds off the web and Kazaa are what I expected... around 105-236k/sec. Better than what I had before. The weird thing is when I setup an FTP server to transfer files to friend of mine in town, our tranfer rates go down from 100+ to 22k/sec download and upload.
Anyone have an explanation for this?
Thanks. |

 ExitPremium,ExMod 2002 join:2001-04-10 Canada | Your saying that when you are uploading at your max transfer rate your download drops? That is normal. When your downloading each packet you get sends one back to verify you got it. So when your upload is maxed your download will be limited too

you should still be able to download at 80 atleast.
Atleast I doo, (when uploading at full 22kb) -- ...:::M.A.U.1.0.8:::... |

 | reply to Exit There may have been some confusion on my last post.
If I download anything OUTSIDE of the Rogers.com network, my transfer speeds are close to 150 - 250k/sec.
If I download anything WITHIN the Rogers.com (for example, an FTP server on my buddy's computer across town) my transfer rate is maxed out at 22k/sec.
The same goes if I UPLOAD to the same server.... still 22k/sec.
THAT looks to me like something's fishy within the Rogers.com network. IS there capping internally?

The 192kbits of upload translates to 22kb\s
Soo theres your answer, its not something fishy, its just because
Well, good question and one that should be placed in the FAQ -- ...:::M.A.U.1.0.8:::... |
