| OVERPAID marketing guy!!! Hmmm.....let me see here...
Take an Ameritech DSL line.....name it after a portal...and call it a refreshing new idea?
This reminds me of cars sold as Chevy's and Ford's....but in reality....are cheap Japanese cars with american nameplates!
Obviously, SBC...on the surface....has nothing to lose in this deal....but does Yahoo really think that a move like this will help sagging advertising sales? I'm still scratching my head over this one!!! [text was edited by author 2002-09-12 16:27:59] |

Obviously, on this board, we know better than to be taken in by the hype, but I think we forget that there's a vast sea of cluelessness out there on which Yahoo can feast. |

 | reply to buddasahn Yeah, I had a choice between a good, American Ford Escort, or a cheap Japanese Toyota Tercel. I ran that thing for almost 200,000 miles before I said, "Screw this, I'm getting a real car!"
So I bought a cheap, Japanese Toyota 4Runner instead of that overpriced, American (rollover) Ford Explorer.
*ROFL* Chevy Prizm--Toyota Corolla. Which do they still make?

| reply to TercelChick FORGIVE ME for screwing up that analogy! While I was trying to compare what automakers do to what Yahoo and SBC have done....I did make one....very FATAL error in siding with American cars! It was simply a brain fart on my end! I whole heartedly agree with what comes from overseas as opposed to what we produce.

Excellent point. Statiscally speaking that would be about 83.3% of Yahoo's population. That's a feast alright. |
