| Inside Scoop the yahoo dsl is not as great as it seems. I am a self install tech in St Louis, and would like to pass on what I have seen of the new software. Everything is now a lot like AOL. the system is based out of 1 program, w/ its own browser(which is all we are going to be able to support, not IE or netscape like before). the system still uses PPPoE, so if you have a router or the old enternet software, you should be able to still use it(haven't been given confirmation on that), but again, we can't support it. This is just from a preliminary 1 hour training. They're supposed to roll out the new software next week, and some of us aren't scheduled for the full training until after it's supposed to be to customers. Just trying to give a bit more info. |
