Bell companies must be happy

Looks like the Baby Bell companies will be pleased with this information, as there is soon be an influx of customers fleeing from AT&T/Comcast.

A sh*tload of money isn't going to encourage them to improve their DSL services/customer relations, as the Bell companies are known for their stiff-arm tactics. I see bad thing for high speed Internet services.

I don't think so. Comcast currently provides broadband to many areas where DSL will never be available. For me personally, I would not bother to switch from Comcast to DSL (even if it was available) because I like the service I get from Comcast. They did a great job with the broadband rollout in my area... considering the old cable company they bought out kept telling me it would not be until 2006-2008 before I would get broadband.
