If you have so much hatred towards them why not cancel now? It seems rather hypocritical that you will ONLY leave IF it's convenient. |

Why is it hypocritical to stay with what is presently the best (and ONLY) broadband capability in my area? This will not always be so. Wireless will put an end to THEIR monopoly sometime in the future.
My past experiences with both AT&T and Comcast as separate entities have convinced me that the merger of the two is NOT a portent of better things to come, but the start on the road from bad to worse.
Yes, right now I will stay for my own convenience . . . but WHEN I have a choice, I will leave. And not look back. -- The Rules of Spam | Maryland's New Anti-Spam Law Where are we going? And what's with the hand basket? |

They no more have a monopoly then any other broadband provider. If your phone company wanted to bring DSL to your area they could. That's their choice, the same goes for fiber optics and wireless providers. Also satellite broadband is available to all of the 48 states. They do not have a monopoly in anything. It's not their fault that they are the only ones that care enough to provide boradband to you. It's absolute lunacy to use that against them. Personally, I would be greatfull for Comcast if they were the only company that cared enough to bring Broadband to me.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion.

You do have a choice, you have dial-up and Satellite broadband. If I had all this hatred that you seemingly have for them I'd cancel them immediatly even if it meant going to a slower and/or more expensive provider, not keep giving them my money and go on a message board and talk about how I'm going to cancel them when it's most convenient for me. |

 | you seem to forget that althought these options are there they are either slower then what he needs or just not economical. sat is almost $1000 to instal and all equipment
the cable system has a monopoly as only it can use the cables. a telephone company doesn't have this. why would say verizon spend $400 million to upgrade if it won't see the return but say earthlink will? makes no economic sense to me.
i totally agree we need to solve this problem and a merger isn't the solution either reg cable like they do phone or dereg phones like they do cable. Let's break down the walls and see who survives. -- I too was a attbi hater but now with this new service my connection is to slow to complain ... |
