Please don't forget that ALEX was the one that found this. He is the one that deserves the most Thanks. Also if it wasn't for Rfsjr2 bringing this to are attention we might not have found out about this. All I did was to do the testing. The only thing that I would like out of this is to really know how many members are using this REG. Tweak.

I tried it on a P2 266 with 162 sdram it tripled e-mail uploads and doubled the uploads on the other test sites . this was on W2k with the 17a00 and DRTCP .(client)I also ran 17a00 on a Dell Inspiron 4000 p3 700 with 256 sdram and had simular results.I uploaded Jpeg as well as zip files.I'm very pleased with the results and thankful to all those who helped on this project.

Cindy I saw this tweak by Alex first then here at BBR but had to leave town last week on the 19th another death in the family. Just got home and you have done a great job since, please accept my appreciation for all the hours and late nites you have put in. I will be trying the tweaks you have tested thanks again and I will let you know the results....

I had a little problem here with the upload tweak only on the host.
Browsing seemed slower on clients and I was getting incomplete page downloads on clients even here at DSL Reports but on other sites also.
I applied the tweak on the clients and browsing is better than ever before with no incomplete pages.
I can finally honestly say browsing is SNAPPY on satellite.

In my opinion and experience the tweak needs to be applied to host and clients to be totally effective but when done it certainly works.

Well, I tried the tweak on my host computer which is an AMD 350Mhz with 128 Meg and Win 2k SP3 machine. I first added the DefaultSendWindow property to my registery with a value of 17a00. I got a small increase. I then added the DefaultReceiveWindow items and set both to a value of 18000. My uploads speeds reported from MyDirecWay.com went from 52ms(with the 17a00 value) to 125ms.
Browsing is definately snappier. This tweak is great!

I looked through my past speed tests and I was getting an average of 12ms since July. Now it is between 50 and 125ms!
