Good news about this

ATTBI's TOS which prevents sharing WILL be gone. Comcast sponsors daily "high tech reports" on KYW-1060 AM (the Philly news station) in which connection sharing is discussed (especially wireless!) and even encouraged! Heck, they even tell you where to buy the stuff! What could be bad about that?

Hopefully they will start to garuntee ping times for gaming and speeds for the teired plans. If I'm paying $80/month I sure as heck better get 3 Mbps.

·Earthlink Cable ..

What exactly is "garunteed" on cable anyway? Cable ISP's promise nothing about speeds, pings, and they NEVER will. This merger is the pits... broadband is coming to an end it seems. You know it, when people in favor of this merger, from Utah can't even spell "Guarantee" Goes to show how people are brain washed to think that bandwidth is really that expensive. It really isn't as expensive as you think.

It really makes me sick that the customer always gets screwed by these corporations. When all is said and done, cable will be capped at 128/56 kbps. At that point, I will go back to dial-up to save some money. I will join Ben from Dotcom Scoop on my new, high speed 56K modem

Corporations don't screw customers unless the customer allows it. If you don't like the product or service you get from one, don't buy it from them.

I don't, I download all my Mp3's I'm happy with my Earthlink cable, so I still use them. I can only get DSL through Verizon, so I hope Earthlink continues to perform this way. I'm 44,000 feet from the CO, but somehow only Verizon can install DSL on my line. Not sure exactly how or why though.

I can't get DSL at all... Verizon has had DSL equipment at my CO since 1998 but they've never bothered to make it available to where I am. I was pretty amazed at how quickly however, that Comcast was able to get my area wired up after they bought out crappy-ass Suburban Cable
