SpeedGuide TCP/IP Analyzer

i just did this analyzer and i'll show you the results, can someone tell me if this looks right or not?

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

What speeds are you getting?

Do a speed test.

I am using an RWIN of 64064 and am getting speeds of 1-1.1Mb/sec.

I haven't tried using a higher RWIN since Rogers has capped the speed at 1.5 Mb/sec.

LOL
the rwin is ridiculous and may slow your connection through packet loss
- read the tweaks faq for more: »Tweaking FAQ

forget the 'scale' factor and just use an even multiple of mss (1460)

64240 is what i use (shaw, 4000/400 speeds)

although really, why not use the tweak test here at bbr?
bet you get something suggested in the 32120 to 37960 range
»Broadband Tweaks

having said that, if it works for you, why bother changing, a speed test would be good: »www.speakeasy.net/main.p ··· page=nyc

Aright tht, your rwin is way to high, thats why pages load soo slowly

Download DRTCP (»/front/drtcp.html)

Then set according to what you see in my screen shot.

Now all you have to doo is change the TCP Receive Window Values according to what other users here give you.

Id suggest with the value in the screen shot, then goo lower (not higher! and trust me).

Oh and after hitting Save, Exit and REBOOT your PC.
