Cisco 675

I used to have the service with Flashcom. Now I have changed to MSN/DSL. I still have the modem Cisco 675. The problem is that when they moved my line to Earthlink. There is the problem with the line and the modem. My DSL didn't work. Some tech as Earthlink.. or Rhythms had worked on my modem, and now it was messed up. Usually, when you connect it throught the management cord, it shows some kinds of operation sytem. Now, the only thing it does is showing ">>" .. Anyone knows what is wrong with this.

Is it possible that you are seeing the enter command prompt? Did you try to enter any commands such as "show nv"?

Wow! They really messed it up big time. I'll look for the docs that explain how to reinstall the image code. Hopefully I can find that info for you.

Quick question. Did you ever save a copy of your configuration file before the image was blown away?

I guess not. However, my frenz have the same Cisco 675. How do you save the image file????... and if you save your image file. Is the way to upload the image file through hyper terminal and xmodem.? Please help.

Here's the deal. There's basically 2 main files in a 675.
One is the image file which is the actual operational code that turns that bunch of chips in the 675 case into a DSL modem/router. The other file is your configuration file. It is the one that holds the configuration command entries that are specific to your individual installation.
Yes, you can re-upload a new image file through the console port but that won't do you any good without the config details. I don't think the 675 can store your old config after the image has been destroyed, so without your installation specific configuration details, all you'll end up with is a brand new 675, like it just came out of the box. I wont be able to help with your specific config file. Sorry...

Oh well, so how I can save the image file. At least I can back it up at the operational stage.

The instructions you are looking for are here »www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/107.html#Q7
And thinking further upon my previous post, your specific config file may still be intact unless they blew it away too.
See the downloads link on the left side of this page linked below for the image files and more specific details. Just ignore any references to configuration info that is specific to the Zoomtown ISP.
