Re: Sure Web Based Speed Testers are accurate !

Thank you-I think you hit i right on the head. The U/L channel is terrible vs the d/l for SprintBBD. Funny thing is, there is NO reason for this to be except for them being too cheap to upgrade the u/l side to match the d/l. NONE.

1500 is the default for ethernet, so I will try 100 MTU with the packets set to LARGE, and Path Discovery set to OFF.

To the other guy whose speeds came up, it is the combonation that is helping you but you should realize that going from 41 to 77, while nice and all, still STINKS when you figure that they promised us upwards of 156 up and the rest of the world on SBBD is getting 150+ regularly.
We in San Jose, especially those in Sector 169, are being treated like 2nd class customers despite paying our fees just as everyone else is. I honestly believ that they just don't give a damn and are just signing people up as much ans\d as fast as they can and performance be damned, afterall , it will get better later. YEAH RIGHT.

2.9% Bad. Is there anything that can be done on my end, or do I have to wait for Sprint to make improvements?

Thanks for your help on the DrTCP settings. I'll try them. I guess you oughta know!

Thanks Mister...I mean DOCTOR... TCP. (you didn't spend 8 years in TCP medical school to be called mister.)

I cleared the adapter's MTU setting, restoring default, but kept PMTU Discovery off. It really made quite a difference in the download speed. The upload speed seems to have gone down a scosh, but still about double what it was before the original tweak.

My retransmitted packet % is currently at 1.9%. It originally went up after I made the recommended changes, but down this morning.
