And so it begins....

Freedoms are never taken all at once... They are taken inch by inch.

Eventually, this will lead to wholesale internet content control.

yup.. today it's "child porn" tomorrow it will be something against terrorism.

face it, it's a simple fact that those two subjects once tied to something many may find objectionable (like outright censorship), you will find very few if any to be willing to stand up against the wrong and take whatever heat or ridicule or scrutiny because the spin doctors will make them out to be for child porn or terrorism.

*sigh*

I just wonder what, if anything will come out regarding the jurisdictional issues raised. Unfortunately because it involves child porn, I doubt anyone will bring up that it is wrong (and maybe even unconstitutional?) for one state to dictate to people in another state what they can and cannot do.

Exactly.

It is a process that I doubt anyone wants to occur but the evolves without a plan.

Just a matter of steps. Who is to say the the next sites to be shut down will be anyone interested in "hacking", explosives, war, etc..... where do you stop?

Death is bad. Terrorism causes death. Death can be caused by damage to critical infrastructure. Infrastructure widely uses computers. Computers are on the internet. The internet is the leading source of "hackers". Hackers are people on computers.

Where in the chain is the line drawn on what we are "allowed" to access information about? And who decides?
