Can you really not log into pages.sbcglobal.net with an SBC Yahoo account? does it give you a normal "authentication failed" message?

I get a 550 Auth error on pages.sbcglobal.net (trying with and without the @sbcglobal.net extension)... still waiting on a response from SBC tech as to why I have to pay for ad free webspace (btw.. I'm not a migrating customer, I'm new to SBC/Yahoo)
