Re: setting up a seti farm?

I have and extra cd rom drive, but is it needed to stay connected to the MOB? or can it just connected temporarily to load the OS and other programs?

You can connect the CD temporarily. Then shutdown pull it and reboot. No problem.

vnc is wonderful, i manage 5 pc's with it folding and the good thing is that it is much easier then pc anywhere.....and all this without Q's...damn i wish they would Q folding......they talk about WU selection so my non internet machine like the 1800+ does not end up with a .06 WU that takes less then an hour....i have to have 7-10 instances runing to give it work for an day!!

:OP...you seti people have it sooooo easy.....

The hdd speed does not matter at all. Get on ebay and pickup some old shite for the drives and off you go.

download windows 2000 pro using a p2p like bearshare and it's a free OS (Sorry Billy Boy) Sorted
