 | Chap. 11: Flashcom service never better? Could it be the loss of customers is good for the system? It seems to me that the quality of the connection has improved since Chapter 11. Caveat being the one equipment failure and outage in Cleveland (not long enough to get that release form, darnit!). My speed checks have been more consistent, and browsing has less "hang time" than before. Customer service has not been degraded . And in the end I'll get to move to Speakeasy after all. I have trouble finding a down side, can somebody help me out here? |

"Customer service has not been degraded "
Umm, haven't you noticed their customer service at all? There is like 3 or 4 people doing all of the phones, and like 2 net. admins. LOL...
If you call them, it is impossible to get through unless you come home from work early and just keep redialing for over 3 hours. The phone queues kick you off automatically after 15-20 minutes. Only a small percentage get through. BUT even COVAD cannot get through! What does this tell you? They have crappy cust. service. Especially when covad cannot talk to them.
After chp. 11, I have been intermittent, on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off sync no-sync no-sync no-sync no-sync no-sync no-sync no-sync. Pings are kinda weird too. Speeds are slowing every day.
Just letting you know . Thanks! |

Anon | uh, yeah. i'm getting 22kbps download today...slower than a modem...it has been like this for almost 48 hours. i gave up calling flashcom last week...never have i gotten through...and i work at home, so even in the early morning on the east coast i can still not get through during "office hours."
if someone from flashcom reads this (or any other dsl service for that matter), it would be nice to have a phone number to call with a recorded message as to the precise status of the system...this is especially nice when the system goes down completely.
as well, is there anyone with information about the status of negotiations between flashcom and covad? i believe the chapter 11 is at an end sometime in march...will that be when we all get disconnected or sold?
thanks anyone. |

UberAres join:2001-01-28 Clinton Township, MI | reply to waltorserf again, I found these nums back when I was trying to disconnect from flashcom in Jan. Were in an early post on this forum, they worked for me. Hopefully u can get through with them also.
sent them a certified letter a month and a half ago they refuse to sign for, and of course they refuse to talk to me also - today however I decided to call not 714-799-2300 but instead dialed 714-799-2302 and got a flashcom employee who of course sent me on a wild goose chase, also got this number 714-799-2547...please e mail me billy1958@rcn.com if you have any more number s and I will do likewise until they stop charging my gdm bank I have not been hooke d up now for 2 months due to breech of contract yet they still are charging my bank card, I will continue to ring their phones repeatedly until I am resolved!! (long distance calls are no longer expensive at all - in fact I call all the way from massachussettes for free using dialpad.com |

 | reply to waltorserf To protect your rights as a consumer (blort) you must file a dispute of the specific charges in writing with your credit card within 60 days of the charge (check your CC agreement, mileage may vary). In addition, you must show a good faith effort to resolve the dispute with the billing party. Most of the time your CC company will go to bat for you, put the credit on your account, and get in line with the other creditors to the offending party. In this case, there might not be any relief from a bankrupt entity charging your account, but I'd certainly try it. |

 | reply to waltorserf And to add insult to injury, ping to my gateway has dropped dramatically from 60-70 down into the 30-40 range. I sent them a fistful of e-mails on this subject, and as many calls, but only now that Flashcom is kaput do things get done! Could it be that Flashcom was the problem and not the solution? |
