Anon | Speed Im a flashcom user and i pay for 1500/386, when i check my bandwith in those sites that check speed it gets almost to that but i have never been able to download more than 150/30, i feel that i am capped, is that possible or are my speeds normal? help me out here ive tried calling and emailing flashcom but they never respond.

Long Beach, CA | I think you are confusing Bytes and Bits, KB and Kb.
you have 1500/386 kilobits per second (thousands of bits per second) download
when you download a file etc it is in kilobytes per second.
there are 8 bits in a byte. Your system is fine. |

Clinton Township, MI | also dsl never reaches its "sold speed" this is because of over head. read the info on the site about theoretical limits of dsl.. its like 86% If im remembering correctly.
i have a 768k and my actual download is around 650 .. this is because of overhead and modem tweaks..
read up in the tweaks section there is some very usefull information there. |
