People downloading too much eh?

Why can't they just put a download cap on each user so they can't download 1000 songs a day. Problem solved in 5 seconds. :P

yep, as long as they say somewhere that that is the rule, and remove all instances of "unlimited" from their site...

of course that won't really stop anyone since 1000 songs a day is still 7000 songs a week

Because then they can't advertise "unlimited". The marketing f*cks know this.. They want to blur the term "unlimited" so they can still sell it as such, but then when you use it, it's not really unlimited..

It's the same way you can't connect to your earthlink dialup 24/7/365. At least that's spelled out though.

It's a little different with this though.. You're talking about discrete "units" - songs; versus a service that's timed.

They're being stupid. Very stupid. I work at a website (yes, we still exist) that sells a service - and we have an unlimited subscription. And we know damn well what that means -- and we planned for it when we deployed it!

You can (or used to anyway) connect to Prodigy 24/7/365. I did that. Then went to broadband. Prodigy is becoming SBC/Yahoo so maybe you can't do 24/7/365 anymore with dialup, I don't know.
