finally covad buys flashcom!

here it is:
»news.excite.com/news/dj/010222/2···2-000183

i did the switch last nite to speakeasy.net while getting around 4kbps...it was tough, but all the cgi scripts finally loaded and were sent. i guess now the self-releases aren't needed...just go to covadcare.

apparently there are some 24,000 users going to be switching or getting their service turned off...so there will be some rough going, but hopefully, things will settle.

good luck to everyone with the switch...lets cross our fingers...

It's a good thing I switched out of Flashcom a while back.
But just a clarification, Covad isn't buying Flashcom but rather the Flashcom customers. Not a biggie. I'm just a perfectionist.

How did you initiate a switch to Speakeasy ? I called Covad this morning to find out how to do that and got the old "You've got to have a release from Flashcom" runnaround.

The fact that Covad owns the customer base now, seemed to be lost on the CS Rep. That and the fact that I'm long 'out of contract' with Flashcom.

Well then, call again right now!!!

Just go to covad saftey net, and keep hittin continue, then enter your last name + zip. It will most likely come up with speakeasy, but either way, it will tell you some instructions.

I followed them, and I'm waiting for them to physically switch me any minute now.

Good luck!
