Re: DFW Uploads

Ok this is an old thread but the problem remains, for me at least, Anyone else in the area still having this problem? I'm getting pretty fed up here, time to call Comcast this time, maybe their techs can help me more than Attbi's could.

Wish I always had these speeds, btw those are 6 am speeds.

Anyway I was just curious if this was still a problem for the rest of you.

Thanks.

Update: After doing some searching, others are still having this problem around the area, like these folks here in Irving, Garland isn't looking good either, Plano as well.

Amazing how this can be this way for basically the entire area and no fix has been made, and this has been a problem since November, maybe enough people aren't complaining, who knows, but I'm going to start again, this is ridiculous.

But at least I have something to show the tech that it isn't just me with this odd problem when I get a hold of one.

Your download speed : 1730536 bps, or 1730 kbps.
A 211.2 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 56854 bps, or 56 kbps.
Your upstream result was very slow! .. not good
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!
----------------------------------------------------

I feel your pain!
My Cybersurfer wave lost connectivity and I was forced to hook up the SB4220 they sent me.
I went from uploads of 250-290 and a dream connection to the above travesty! I've done many a FTP test to confirm my crappy uploads as well.

The damn tech came out today and was NO help.

Ok, I'm getting an email and all that ready for the cable franchise, collecting data and the sort. So is anyone around here still getting speeds like this or is it just me now? It would help if it wasn't just me, thanks.

Wheelz,

I'm still stuck in the mud here!
As the tech recommended, I added a D-link NIC as the one I had was integrated to my motherboard. This helped a little, but my uploads are still inconsistent and are usually around 50. I also have frequent problems with losing connection and end up having to power cycle the modem. I'm also adding 512 of PC2100 DDR so he can not complain about my memory maybe being the issue. After that is done, I'm calling him back in to check things out.

Once again, I think this is a problem with Comcast;s service and not with my computer! My uploads were always at cap or above with my Cybersurfer Wave modem. They did not die until I was forced into the SB4220. I do not know why this is so obvious to me and Crapcast just can't get it.

Hi Wheelz Off, I've often wondered if they ever resolved your upload speed problem....Since you haven't posted in a while, I just assumed they did.
As you can see, my upload speeds vary greatly.
I still don't consider this 'fixed'.
