Sad to me...but many reasons for this....

I am really sad about Flashcom being down. 1st, for me it has been a local company that I could support, me being less than a mile from their main headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA. 2nd, the performance of the connection has been dang good for me. When I first ordered it, it took longer than expected to install, but I finally got it, only to be very disappointed by the ping times in multiplayer games. I upgraded to 1.5/384K thinking that would help, but pings only dropped marginally, to my great surprise. Finally, I found that Flashcom had been using interleaving, and after much trouble for a long period of time, I finally got the interleaving fixed by sending an e-mail to the president of Flashcom, answered by their Vice President. From then on, it has been GREAT service/performance. As long as I didn't have to call Flashcom, I was happy with them. Also, I noticed in the monthly bills that Flashcom had not caught up with my upgrade to 1.5. So, I was paying $50 for a $90 dollar line. I had friends at the same time who NEVER PAID a dime to Flashcom ANYTIME during their terms of service. In the meantime, I had AWESOME pings, even reaching (!)3(!) once to a particular server (not LAN, by the way) and enjoyed the pings under 30 most of the time. It was great. I think, in all of my service, I had MAYBE one unexpected downage in service. Since the interleaving clear-up, I have been a satisfied customer, and wouldn't have even thought of switching if Flashcom didn't go under. Bummer for me. In the meantime, I've rethought the 90 dollars necessary for my line, and am going to give cable a try, because I could never go back to slower speeds, but believe the anything above 50 dollars is a rip-off for internet connectivity, if you do not own a business that depends on that speed. RoadRunner is the cable in my area, so I'll post a review of that with multiplayer gaming/downloads and see what happens. I hope for the best.

God Bless,
Dave

P.S., you'll see what I mean about pings in the LPB Hall of Fame area of this website. My name is [xTc]God's Hand (The Chosen) on there.

God Bless,
Dave

It's been 1.5 year of UNinterapted service for me as well .
Never(!!!) even needed to contact them - once service UP -
it is still running. I remember just 2 (15-20 min) outages (NYC area)!!!
