Why care?

Why do the ISPs care?

Suppose I get a T1, 10 megabits up and down, for suppose $1000 a month(I don't know T1 pricing). I share it with 20 people, and they all pay me. The ISP is still getting their $1000 a month so what are they complaining for? They'll still be getting all the money they were getting before.

Cable vs DSL; if you have either one, any input here greatly appreicated. A way to find out the benefits and faults of both of them.

Right on the mark!

Smart ISP's don't care, matter of fact, they encourage it. The ones who are whining, are the ones who were stupid enough to offer *unlimited* for $59.95. There is no way to pay for the bandwidth at those prices.

While a T1 only runs at about 1.5 megabits, $1000.00 a month is right on the mark.

I think that is the only way Wi-Fi is gonna fly. What cracks me up, is that there are... er... uh... I mean were so many ISP's offering cheap unlimited bandwidth without a thought about who is gonna pay for it. It is equally funny how many people think that wireless will be free. Somebody has got to pay for it.

A good ISP would be happy to have you as a client because it appears that you have a clue what's going on.
