| If you're a Northpoint/PhoenixDSL customer and you haven't heard about a migration, I suggest you contact the Telocity PhoenixDSL rescue line (phone number listed at »www.telocity.com/phoenixdsl/ - there was supposed to be, but never was, a list of migration dates, and the FAQ isn't completely current) to inquire about your status. It seems some people have been getting called for their credit card number, and others have not. You should check to make sure you're "in the database" and they have all the information they need; likely they don't.
Secondly, if you're a Rhythms/PhoenixDSL customer, read up on some of the other threads in this topic; it seems that Rhythms/PhoenixDSL customers will be the last to be migrated and there is an ongoing saga. -- =C=

Do they call you to arrange the cutover? |

Read some of the other posts, many people have been able to get their connections back up without even taking the Telocity modem out of the box. We're assuming that them switching you is actually what your problem is. |

 | you dont need the new modem.. just goto your windows network settings, change it to obtain IP address automaticly. Once you get an IP goto your dos prompt do an Ipconfig /all to get all the #s, then just put them back in your network settings as static IP settings |
|
 | The problem, though, is that this is not your statically-assigned IP address. Others have reported getting a different address when connecting the monolith. |

Frostbite is exactly correct as usual. But at least it will keep you going for a while. If someone in the outside world needs to know you IP address, don't depend on it staying constant until you install the gateway. So just set up DHCP until your gateway arrives. |

Re: I'm still on the old deal....still working AWSOME. Ive got a linksys BEFSR41 with a phoenix/RTHM connection. All lights still green, but no connection.
1) Someone said to change pnix.net to telocoty.net I've never entered an pnix.net anywhere in my routers config. All i entered was my static IP and some DNS's.
Are they referring to the optional routername and/or domain name that some ISP's required?
2) SO I set it to dynamically get IP address, instead of static...BUT actually, once i reboot, how can I tell what IP was assigned to my linksys router? ipconfig will just show 192.168.1.100 for my PC, but nothing for the router, right? Is is somewhere in the router config web pages?
Thanks for any help! |
