These "Rent-on-Demand" etc models sure aren't going to co-exist with the new "Capped, corked, cut, and limited" models of broadband services.
The very idea of .NET and centralized software requires "unlimited" traffic or at best "very low cost" and it pretty much assumes you have good speed as well... Download/usage caps/byte metering will be a monkey wrench in the entire plan.
